Naples is just great location in the certain sense of various noises: annoying or atmospheric, direct or ambient.
Passersby shuttlecock, bikes driven madly, loud voices, narrow lanes – all that puts you in search for shelter, but then you are not about finding it somewhere soon but struck at massive stream, people stream, endless one.

To take a notion, Naples nowadays is nothing else but a huge garbage spot cause obviously it ain’t got policy to latter’s utilization, which circumstance is followed with city turned green.

We learned Napoli a lot.
Does Booth of silence seem a certain solution?
Initial intuition would proclaim it provincial, but city’s speed and intensity declares the opposite.
Significantly, the city of Napoli is full of kiosks and booths sized differently, although, of no evident use, either abandoned or even ruined. What are they all for?

In fact, sound levels were extremely high out there.
An average cross with cars awaiting traffic light to turn green and then rushing forward impetuously would show up to some 94-98 dBc, which is a lot to hear, to feel, to realize.

As earlier reported at gentlemanner.com, the new, only and official web site of Petr Bystrov, Akukon, a Finnish company for acoustics and noise measurements, had officially confirmed its collaboration for elaborating the technical solution of the experimental booth to be produced soon.
The first object is supposed to be a kind of transportable construction so that to foreseeing our participation to numerous fairs and festivals in Europe later in 2010 (TBA).

Paris is full of noises whereever you go.
We use to associate Paris with many things – good or specific – whatever, but extra sound.
However, upon having taken an intent look, one discovers a universe of noise consisting of planets alike Bastille, Republique, Gare de l’Est, Rivoli and others forming enormous sound system to play on.

Luckily, we even happened to dash against some locations, in which booth of silence was
to fit in easily – yet with a little help of our own imagination.

Booth of silence intends to experimentally serve modern townsmen psychoemotional needs.

Collaboration with other institutions specializing in the urban design, environment development, architectural innovations is anticipated.

Booth of silence project main purpose is erecting sound proof cabins in the centers of biggest cities all over the world in order to start up a newest infrastructure service: protecting people from extra noises caused by urban acoustics, those we all do suffer from at times.
Back in summer, a route over Geneva-Rome-Naples-Paris-Barcelona-Moscow in order to seek and explore biggest european cities’ most noisy locations, sound meter them and imagine possible architectural solutions in order to booth of silence potential locations was made.
December, 12th 2009 had seen the first B.o S. public presentation at ENDURING FUTURISM, an exhibition curated by Petr Bystrov at dispariedispari project in Italy – not yet a real object but a scope of what supposes to appear massive public service as the project further goes.

Anvar Kadyrov
graduated from Lomonosov Moscow State University (2000), worked on development and production of a Taikon construction set series (2001); founded Brainmade, agency for creative development.
He participated to various artistic projects amongst which there are Fashion control by Radek Community, Guelman gallery, Moscow, 2003; Theater of Homeless Youth by Elena Kovylina, Berliner Festspiele, Berlin, 2003; Inhabitants  by Petr Bystrov, ArtKljazma festival, 2003, and more.
In 2008, he co-founded darudar , a virtual gift makers community
Lives and works in Moscow.

Petr Bystrov
studied philosophy at the Russian State University for Humanities of Moscow, from which graduated in 2002.
Since then he also works as an individual artist, as well as curates other artist’s projects, and teaches.
1999 to 2005 was member of Radek Community, a group of artists, authors and cultural activists.
In 2005-2006 he collaborated Elena Kovylina for publishing Stone Milk, a conceptual magazine and was invited as visiting professor at the New Academy of Fine Arts (NABA) in Milan.
He co-founded Cheremushki apartment gallery in Moscow, in which was involved as an artist, producer and curator.
He is a “Media-art project of the year” selection of the Kandinsky-prize nominee (2007), and “Young artist” of the Innovation prize nominee (2007).
